Shop Supervisor

Talent Consultant Group is partnered with an inspection, overhaul, and repair company that is looking to add a Shop Supervisor to their growing team in Jacksonville, FL. The person in this role will be responsible for supervising and scheduling shop floor employees, assigning work to all departments, working with the Shop Manager to ensure work flows smoothly through the shop, and applying knowledge to train personnel as needed. Responsibilities:

• Leader of Shop floor operations
• Work with Shop Manager to develop schedules and assign manpower.
• Read work orders and data associated to determine specifications and material to be used.
• Schedule all departments of Heavy industrial equipment repair. Including but not limited to welding, machining, and balancing.
• Operate forklifts and cranes as needed.
• Schedule machine and facilities maintenance
• Customer service
• Proper use of PPE and shop enforcement.
• Enforce all shop rules and policies.
• Issue written warnings as warranted, up to and including termination.
• Maintain a clean, safe, working environment.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 5 - 10 years’ experience in an industrial repair or manufacturing environment.
• Good organizational skills
• Able to work off hours and weekends when necessary.
• Ability to foresee changes relevant to area of responsibility.
• Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the facility.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective.
• Ability to read and use related quality control tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures.
• Ability to obtain a master riggers certification.
• Ability to pass forklift and crane operator certification classes.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Understanding of lean and 6S safety in a repair / manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills
