General Site Support Worker

Overview
This role performs a wide variety of manual and light maintenance tasks to keep the site safe, clean, and operating smoothly. The position does not involve operating heavy equipment or performing licensed trade work unless the employee is separately authorized, trained, and qualified to do so.

Daily Responsibilities

• Direct traffic and guide vehicles safely within the site
• Assist customers and visitors with inquiries, directions, and site procedures
• Verify permits, tickets, or access documentation as required
• Collect litter and debris from grounds and work areas
• Perform sweeping and general janitorial duties in buildings and common areas
• Perform grounds maintenance, including mowing and trimming with hand-operated or walk-behind equipment
• Install and maintain temporary litter fencing and erosion-control materials
• Fuel vehicles and light equipment as needed
• Assist with tarping and untarping trailers
• Sort and consolidate white goods, scrap metal, tires, and mattresses for proper handling/disposal
• Clean equipment tracks and undercarriages as required
• Perform minor caulking, patching, and painting for basic upkeep and repairs
• Perform snow and ice removal from walkways, entrances, and designated areas
• Follow all site safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times
• Report hazards, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to a supervisor promptly

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to follow verbal and written safety instructions
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Basic communication skills for customer interaction

Preferred:

• Prior experience in grounds maintenance, waste handling, or general labor
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools (trimmers, mowers, sweepers)

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to [e.g., 50 lbs] regularly, and up to [e.g., 75 100 lbs] occasionally with assistance
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, or snow
• Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks (sweeping, trimming, sorting)
• Comfortable working near vehicle and equipment traffic
