Clinical Laboratory Scientist Part Time Night Shift Job Category: Technical/Spec Sal • Requisition Number: CLINI002681 • Posted: December 23, 2025 • Part‑Time • On‑site • Hourly Range: $46.99 – $69.09 USD Locations: Community Hospital of Huntington Park Huntington Park, CA 90255, USA Job Summary The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing moderately complex and complex laboratory tests, as defined by CLIA, in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank and serology. The position reports to the lead clinical laboratory scientist, laboratory manager/supervisor, and/or the administrative director of Laboratory services. The role contributes to department operations and communications while upholding the mission and values of Pipeline Health and AIDET communication standards. Essential Functions Follow hospital policies and procedures and document review. Ensure all daily quality controls are acceptable before releasing patient results. Perform and document maintenance, temperature checks, specimen rejection and troubleshooting; adhere to schedules and leave minimal hand‑over tasks for the next shift. Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents. Participate in laboratory in‑service and competency assessment programs. Help train and orient new team members. Use clear, concise, professional communication with coworkers and patients. Apply AIDET principles in interactions with patients and family members. Act with a sense of urgency when performing tasks. Keep unit/department areas free of unnecessary clutter. Report equipment and environmental issues for repair. Abide by HIPAA regulations. Stop the line and report safety events when necessary. Complete and attend monthly training as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Behavioral Standards Treat everyone as a customer; use scripting and other tools for consistent customer service. Qualifications & Experience Minimum six (6) months in an accredited hospital laboratory, preferably with experience in at least two sections. Critical thinking, service excellence, strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Capacity to learn, synthesize information, make critical judgments and work independently. Ability to place patients and families first and collaborate with team members. Acceptable Experience Licensed as MT, MLS, or LCT. ASCP, NCA/ACP, or AMT certifications for clinical laboratory work not requiring state licensure outside California. Military clinical experience with proof of service. Experience in CAP or Joint Commission accredited facilities outside the United States. Education Doctoral, Master’s, or bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited school. Or, align with CMS interpretive guidelines for education requirements. All foreign degrees must be accompanied by a confirmation letter certifying U.S. equivalence.
