- Assess patients from various age groups including pediatric, adult, and geriatric using standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Create customized treatment plans that outline short-term and long-term goals tailored to communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Team up with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to develop cohesive treatment strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to foster progress beyond the clinical environment.
- Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
- Keep meticulous documentation in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Engage in ongoing education to stay updated with the latest industry advancements and collaborate with peers for continuous improvement.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not presently ASHA-certified.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities applicable across all ages, with comprehensive familiarity of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to connect effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Capacity to tailor therapeutic approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and medical records standards.
