Shift Type: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend

Requirements

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity nursing care to PCU patients including those with CVA, TIA, and respiratory conditions
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect changes in patient status
• Administer medications including IV drips like Cardizem and insulin via PCA pumps
• Collaborate with a tight-knit interdisciplinary team including care managers, PT/OT, and dietitians
• Ensure hourly rounding and responsiveness to enhance patient experience
• Float to medical-surgical areas as needed to support the unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• 2+ years of recent PCU or stepdown experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Telemetry competency and experience with EPIC charting
• Valid driver's license (required for radius verification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Proficiency with Alaris IV pumps and mechanical lift equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage a busy 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
