Journeyman Electrician
Location: New Haven, CT
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job DescriptionA well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join their team in New Haven, CT. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects while utilizing strong technical skills and electrical knowledge.
The ideal candidate will have a Connecticut Journeyman Electrician license, strong troubleshooting abilities, and experience working safely and efficiently on active jobsites.
ResponsibilitiesInstall, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems.
Perform electrical work on commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Install and service electrical panels, transformers, lighting systems, and related equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose issues efficiently.
Perform electrical inspections and identify potential problems.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Install and retrofit lighting systems, including LED systems.
Assist with high-voltage electrical projects and equipment installations.
Use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.
Coordinate with project managers, foremen, customers, and other trades.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Travel to project sites throughout Connecticut as needed.
Valid Connecticut Journeyman Electrician license required.
Previous commercial, industrial, or residential electrical experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, panels, and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
