Job Type: Full-time, school-based position
Start Date: 2026-2027 school year

About the Role

A Colorado school district is hiring a School Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year. You will provide school-based social work services, including counseling, crisis intervention, and support for students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs. You will work with teachers, administrators, families, and community providers to help students succeed in school.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling to students
Deliver crisis intervention and student mental health support
Take part in IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings
Complete social developmental histories, assessments, and progress monitoring
Connect students and families with community resources and outside providers
Consult with teachers and staff on behavior and social-emotional concerns
Support MTSS, positive behavior, and social-emotional learning efforts
Keep accurate records and meet all state and federal timelines

Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider license with School Social Worker endorsement (or eligibility to obtain one)
Ability to complete required background checks, including fingerprinting

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a K-12 school setting
Experience with special education, IEPs, and school-based mental health services
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
