Airport Service Vehicle MechanicThis role is responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. These vehicles include but are not limited to support trucks, stationary carts, tankers, and hydrant trucks. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.The maintenance team ensures our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment ensuring all work is performed safely and is supported by following established procedures and protocols.Key Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance and resolve complex problems by troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems and combustion engine problems on customer-owned Tennant products and similar competitor models.Perform diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles and heavy equipmentConduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systemsCollaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflowConduct heavy lifting and equipment repair tasks as neededProficiency in working with diesel engines, Caterpillar machinery, and farm equipmentExperience in heavy equipment operation preferredAbility to weld and perform heavy lifting tasksPrior experience as a service technician in the automotive industryExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailProvide labor and time estimates.Document processes and service repairs using a computer.Produce timely and detailed service reports using Ebis Software.High attention to detail, and self-motivation.Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systemsHydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration ScheduleRepair all non-motorized equipmentAble to program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger, including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID)Repair and replace all tires and wheelsPerform monthly, quarterly and annual quality control checks on the equipmentMaintain records relating to maintenanceDrive and operate service equipment vehicleAble to perform an accident inspection on involved equipmentReport all accidents to Shop Supervisors and ManagersAnswer all radioed repair calls on the rampEnsure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipmentMust be able to safely operate all vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) -Perform Daily Equipment Checks (DEC's)Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and proceduresSafety, Security, Wellbeing and Compliance:You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
