Neurology Nurse Practitioner

Silver Cross Medical Group is seeking a full-time Neuroscience APP to add to their growing team. The team consists of two endovascular neurosurgeons, neurologist, and two APPs who partner with the physicians to provide our patients with care in Telestroke, Stroke, Neurology, Endovascular Neurology and Neurosurgery. The APP will provide care in multiple settings including but not limited to the outpatient clinic, inpatient consults and rounding, and assisting with procedures (based on interest and experience).


The Neuroscience APP will participate in care for both neurosurgery and neuroendovascular patients. The services are covered on site by APPs 5 days per week during the daytime hours, with remote weekend support if needed. Typical hours range from 4-5 shifts per week.


Position Requirements:

• Master's degree from an accredited school/college nursing program
• Licensed in the State of Illinois
• Controlled Substance and DEA license
• PALS / ACLS certification
• Experience in Neurosciences is preferred
• Electronic Medical Record proficiency (experience with Cerner is a plus)
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate optimal patient care in a complex healthcare environment
• Ability to get to the hospital within 60 minutes
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations
