Job Overview and Qualifications

In the role of a Registered Nurse (RN) within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), your primary duties will include conducting patient assessments, formulating care plans, and implementing and evaluating care strategies. You will also oversee, monitor, and assess the care provided by non-licensed team members.

  • You will conduct and document patient assessments upon admission.
  • You will monitor and evaluate changes in the patient's behavioral and physiological conditions.
  • You will apply your professional skills and judgment in delivering and/or delegating patient care.
  • You will assist with employee processes in the unit, including orientation and professional growth.
  • You will undertake additional responsibilities as assigned within your licensure scope.
Requirements

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or critical care settings.

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program or RN Diploma.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License. If you hold a Compact License, a Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as required by our healthcare policy.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification as required by our healthcare policy.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification is preferred.
