RECOVERY ANALYST (HYBRID OPTION)

Recovery Analyst (Hybrid Option) – Department of Health Care Services Job Control Number: JC-523028. About the Role The Recovery Analyst ensures reimbursement of Medi‑Cal funds for members involved in personal injury actions such as auto accidents, slip and falls, and premises liability. In this supervisory environment, the analyst maintains an ongoing caseload, researches and documents claims, and collaborates with third‑party payers to recover funds owed to Medi‑Cal. Responsibilities Maintain and manage an active caseload of recovery cases. Identify and document recoverable funds from third‑party payers. Research and interpret claims, statutes, regulations, and legal documents to support recovery efforts. Prepare accurate and timely reports of recovered amounts for internal stakeholders. Communicate with claimants, attorneys, and agencies to facilitate payment and dispute resolution. Collaborate with the Personal Injury Branch to improve recovery processes. Minimum Qualifications Minimum education or experience requirements for Analyst I or Analyst II as defined in the classification specification. Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail. Effective communication skills – written and oral. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with Medi‑Cal, insurance claims, or medical billing preferred. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of Medi‑Cal program, insurance claims, or medical billing. Experience reviewing procedures, policies, statutes, regulations, and legal documents. Accounting, data reconciliation, or fiscal forecasting experience. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong time‑management and multitasking capability. Positive, proactive attitude with eagerness to learn. Excellent attendance and punctuality. Salary range is $3,861.00 – $6,276.00 per month, with temporary reductions applied under the Personal Leave Program 2025.
