Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain relational database systems and applications.
- Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Design database schemas, tables, indexes, and data models based on application requirements.
- Perform database development, testing, deployment, and maintenance activities.
- Analyze and improve database performance through query optimization and indexing.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support to application teams.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and availability.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and version management.
- Develop ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and system administrators.
- Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Monitor database performance and recommend improvements.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in database development and SQL programming.
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with databases such as:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle Database
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- MariaDB
- Strong SQL skills including:
- Complex queries
- Joins
- Stored procedures
- Functions
- Triggers
- Views
- Query optimization
- Knowledge of database indexing, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database design, development, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of data security, access control, and database best practices.
- Experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms.
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
- Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.

- AWS/Azure Database Certifications
- Data Engineering Certifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
