FOOD UNIT LEAD (FULL TIME)

Job Summary We are hiring immediately for full‑time FOOD UNIT LEAD positions at Rochester Community Schools (52585 Dequindre Road, Rochester, MI 48307). This position follows the school calendar and does not require evenings or weekends. Online applications only. Schedule and Compensation Full‑time schedule; Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm or 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Fixed pay rate: $18.00 per hour. Internal employee referral bonus is available. Qualifications Prior food service and supervisory experience is required. Responsibilities Provide quality customer service with one‑on‑one attention to detail. Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control. Help plan menus. Ensure timely, efficient meal service and supervise the serving of meals. Respond to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint and via email for electronic complaints. Train employees; assign and coordinate work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow. Use proper systems for completion of required daily, weekly and monthly reports such as inventory, cash, production records, payroll and time‑keeping. Handle cash in accordance with the Food Accounting Manual (deposits, petty cash, change funds). Order food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors. Direct and participate in the sanitation and safety of the facility and employees in accordance with company standards and government regulations. Develop and adhere to sanitation schedule for cleaning of kitchen, dining area and equipment. Issue written and oral instructions. Help select and orient employees; oversee staff training in areas of responsibility. Perform other duties as assigned.
