About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Asheville, North Carolina, 28801!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS BLS NIHSS Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: Progressive Care Unit with 44 beds. 95 staff members provide patient care. Day Shift staffing includes 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Night Shift staffing includes 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Patient ratios are 4:1 at grid and 5:1 stretched. Unit is equipped with IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. EMR system used is Cerner. Most sought-after skills include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification. Candidates without these skills will not be considered. Preferred experience includes neuro and trauma care. Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump operations, IV infusions, lumbar drain placements, feeding tube placements, and blood transfusions. Ideal candidate should be a team player and patient-focused. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. Floating may occur to stepdown units or med-surg units.
