Responsibilities

• Conduct rapid initial assessment and triage of ER patients; monitor ongoing patient status and respond to deterioration
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and manage fluid balance per physician orders; assist with procedures as directed
• Support physicians and the care team during emergent interventions; participate in code response and patient resuscitation efforts
• Document care, nursing assessments, treatments, and patient education in the electronic medical record
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical pathways and hospital policies
• Communicate clearly with patients and families; assist with discharge planning, referrals, and follow-up instructions as appropriate

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in California
• Certification requirements: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• CPI or TEAM certification required
• ER department experience and ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
• Willingness to rotate days and weekends; no on-call required
• Minimum 5 years of ER experience preferred; will consider candidates with less experience based on patient volume and competencies
