Accounting Manager

Duties And Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including hiring and performance management of team.
2. Protect assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transaction by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks across all departments
3. Establish, implement, and monitor policies to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and other requirements.
4. Oversee accurate and efficient month and year-end closing processes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed assets activities, debt activity, and excise tax and sales tax filings.
5. Monitor and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variances.
6. Monitor and analyze the accounting data and produce timely and accurate financial reports and statements.
7. Establish and ensure documented, proper accounting methods, controls, processes, principles, and policies.
8. Assist with integrity of daily banking statements and reconciliations.
9. Coordinate and complete audit prepared by client (PBC) audit requirements for outside CPA firm. (External financial statements, income tax, and property tax filings are prepared by outside CPA firm.)
10. Recommend and implement approved innovations for optimizing systems, procedures, corrective actions, and processes.
11. Support budget and forecasting activities.
12. Achieve budget objectives by assisting departments with analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions when necessary.
13. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions in compliance with record retention rules and guidelines.
14. Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures, special projects, programs, capital expenditures, and inventory/purchasing.
15. Assist in the preparation of financial presentations.
16. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

2. Possess education equivalent to bachelor's degree in accounting or finance plus five years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in public accounting preferred.
3. Possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Possess the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
4. Possess the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
5. Possess proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
6. Possess advanced computer skills in Office, accounting software, budget software, and databases.
7. Possess demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
8. Possess a high attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Possess the ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
10. Possess the ability to maintain in person attendance in order to collaborate with other departments.
11. CPA designation preferred.
