Substitute Bus Driver
Requirements for Substitute Bus Driver:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- CPR/First Aid Certificate (or CHP First Aid Testing)
- CA Class B Commercial License with "S" endorsement, School Bus Certificate and DL-51
- 3 months related experience driving a residential route and training
- Addition to Bus Driver Testing Pool; required to submit to a random drug and alcohol testing under the guidelines of the Department of Transportation Bus Driver Pool
- Candidate must pass a pre-employment Department of Transportation drug screen and physical

- Copies of required bus driver endorsements, licenses and certificates
- To comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, all new employees must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Persons applying for employment in the Thermalito Union Elementary School District, who receive a conditional offer of substitute employment, will be required to submit to a finger-print based Department of Justice background check, a Department of Transportation Drug Screen, Department of Transportation Medical Clearance and provide proof of TB clearance.
