Custodian - National City

Overview The Custodian provides general custodial work. This position is responsible for maintaining and providing routine scheduled cleaning as well as quality cleaning in and outdoors. Schedule Location: Jackie Robinson Family YMCA Available shift times: Monday - Friday: 6 pm -11:30 pm Weekends 12 pm - 6 pm Responsibilities Perform all scheduled janitorial tasks throughout all buildings Perform detailed janitorial tasks during closing hours one evening per month Ensure all restroom dispensers are adequately stocked at all times Perform daily trash pick-up throughout the facility Provide courteous and helpful service to guests at all times Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledge of building repairs such as painting wall patching, striping, and buffing floors and minor plumbing repairs Must be able to stand for long periods of time and drive a small utility cart Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and includesubsequentarrest notifications CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: o American Red Crosso American Heart Associationo American Safety & Health Institute YMCA will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
