Job Overview
Position: Charge Nurse - CCU
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Department: Coronary Care Unit
Available Shifts: Day and Night
Compensation: Gross pay ranging from $1,451 to $1,982 per week, which translates to an hourly rate of $40.32 to $55.06.
Duration of Assignment: 12 weeks

- Oversee the quality of care, documentation, and adherence to regulations.
- Make prompt adjustments to care plans to ensure patient safety.
- Engage in patient and family rounds to improve the overall patient experience.
- Act as a resource for patients, families, and team members.
- Deliver direct patient care as necessary to uphold safe staffing levels.
- Facilitate daily unit operations and address any patient care or safety issues.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and task assignments.
- Supervise, mentor, and assess staff performance; assist with performance evaluations.
- Ensure sufficient supplies, equipment functionality, and inventory management.
- Coordinate with various departments to streamline admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Oversee nursing staff and patient care during assigned shifts.
Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:
- Must possess a current and valid RN license in the state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) required upon hire and must be maintained.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA) required upon hire and must be maintained.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital, specifically in a CCU setting.
- At least one year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital; critical care experience is essential.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certification must be obtained within six months of hire and maintained.
