Agency Overview Police Officer 2 (Full Time)** (260001Y4). The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) seeks a dedicated officer for the Northcoast Behavioral Health facility located at 1756 Sagamore Road, Northfield, Ohio. The role involves maintaining safety and security across the hospital grounds and building, ensuring compliance with Ohio law and public safety standards. Compensation: $27.43 - $34.71 per hour. Full‑time, union‑covered (Unit 2), hourly position with pay schedule starting at Step 1 and potential raises after six months and yearly thereafter. Additional salary increases include a 3% raise on July 1, 2026 and a longevity supplement after five years of service. Responsibilities Maintain safety and security of the Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare facility Patrol grounds and buildings Assist with and conduct investigations Respond to emergencies and code assists Escort, protect, and assist visitors Conduct searches Apprehend, arrest, and process criminal violators File affidavits, serve warrants, and subpoenas Appear in court and testify in criminal proceedings Perform police administrative duties Qualifications Possession of a certificate from an approved basic peace officer training program or completion of 20 years active duty as a peace officer per Section 109.78(D) of the Ohio Revised Code. Valid driver’s license required. Probationary period of one year. Applicant must be able to successfully perform Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program fitness testing entry standards for new recruits.
