Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Proof of auto insurance and vehicle registration

• Successful background and fingerprint clearance

• Drug screening

• Physical exam and TB test

• Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) check

• Medicaid Exclusion check

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of residents at all times

• Provide support with daily living skills (hygiene, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.)

• Transport residents to and from programs and activities

• Maintain accurate documentation, notes, and time records

• Complete required checklists and quality assurance tasks

• Keep living spaces clean and organized during shifts

• Communicate professionally with residents, families, and team members

• Support residents in building independence and life skills
