PRN Physical Therapist

Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet the following educational and licensing requirements: Current or temporary Physical Therapist license in the state where services will be performed, or a valid Physical Therapist Compact License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of the hire date. Core Duties and Responsibilities Provide coordinated, comprehensive patient care, including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions, and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach. Apply research‑based techniques to examine, diagnose, and treat conditions that limit mobility, documenting and consulting with the supervising MD as needed. Oversee and supervise PTAs, rehabilitation technicians, students, and volunteers in accordance with regulatory standards. Participate in achieving department and organizational goals by aligning work unit objectives with the hospital’s mission. Submit accurate charges for services rendered for patients through the billing system in the patient EMR. For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements, complete annual education and training related to the accreditation standards, including competency validation. Physical Requirements Use lift equipment or patient‑handling aids for transfers, lifts, and repositioning, limiting manual patient lifting to a maximum of 35 pounds. Perform heavy or hard work that may involve lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, or carrying materials and equipment weighing 40+ pounds. Maintain required vision abilities, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Environment Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and various cleaning and laundry chemicals. Skills and Abilities Organize and prioritize tasks to coordinate work efforts and meet schedules, integrating multiple factors that may impact patient care.
