Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI center requiring at least 2 years of experience and active MO or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Combined adult and pediatric ED within a Level I Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI hospital setting
• Teaching hospital with a pediatric ED embedded within the main ED
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• 50% of holidays on contract are required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating is required between the ED and ED Observation unit
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Handles a wide range of acuity including neurological emergencies, trauma, cardiac events, and pediatric cases

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license currently in hand — no pending licenses accepted
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications required
• TNCC required; ATCN and CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Proficiency with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they have Level I trauma experience
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay; candidates within 75 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
• Max 10 days of RTO (requested time off) allowed for the contract; RTO must be disclosed upfront
• Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required prior to returning
• Orientation modules average 4–6 hours and are non-paid; they are completed during orientation and annually
• Re-orientation is not required for travelers returning within 18 months
