Laboratory Analyst

Job Description Cascade Bio is a fast-moving early-stage startup seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst to support enzyme purification, quality control, and laboratory operations. This is an on-site position at our laboratory in Denver, CO. Key Responsibilities Perform routine biochemical assays, including enzyme activity and protein concentration measurements. Responsibility for enzyme expression, purification, and characterization using standard systems, including E. coli and IMAC. Assist with maintenance of laboratory-scale bioreactor and scale-up activities as needed. Accurately record experimental procedures, observations, and results. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, traceability, and data integrity. Maintain accurate inventory of chemicals, enzymes, and supplies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Associate Director of Chemistry and Enzyme Scientists. Communicate project status, results, and technical issues clearly and promptly to supervisor and team. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory space. Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field 1–2 years of hands-on wet lab experience in academic or industry settings Proficiency in fundamental laboratory techniques and good laboratory practices Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation Excellent organizational and time management skills Commitment to laboratory safety and maintaining a safe working environment Proactive approach to troubleshooting experimental issues and proposing innovative solutions Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Preferred Experience with protein purification or enzyme-related workflows Familiarity with chromatography systems and biochemical assays Knowledge of process development or protein expression scale-up Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment Cascade Bio is an equal opportunity employer.
