Universal Banker

The Universal Banker provides a proactive, consultative style of banking that builds customer relationships based on trust and the ability to identify financial needs and recommend solutions. As a Universal Banker, you will be responsible for assisting with branch operations, delivering a unique and memorable client experience, achieving sales goals and handling service requests. You will perform additional duties as assigned and must be able to work in a team environment requiring the ability to multi‑task, pay great attention to detail, and a passion for customer service. Responsibilities Service Area Responsibilities Proactively greet customers by performing lobby management activities to connect with customers, assess reason for visiting the branch, and determine the service required. With a high level of accuracy, efficiency and professionalism, provide excellent customer service by processing all branch‑related transactions. Financial Sales Responsibilities Keep current and be knowledgeable of all Bank’s products and services to communicate to new and existing clients. Maintain customer information for those expressing interest in future financial discussions and document pertinent details. Proactively contact customers with pre‑approved offers or a general financial overview, schedule meetings to conduct structured reviews, and understand their financial situation. Recommend services/products that meet customer needs, create loyalty, and provide a differentiated experience. Educate customers on options for managing financial transactions using technology, tools and resources. Communicate clearly and accurately about product/ service benefits, requirements and any associated fees or costs. Refer customers to appropriate associates or departments when necessary. Operational/Regulatory/Security Responsibilities Participate in daily branch operations, including transaction servicing on the platform or in the sales associate area. Comply with all department and company policies, procedures and security requirements. Notify appropriate staff when a situation poses potential risk or when suspicious behavior is observed. Work closely with other departments to troubleshoot and resolve customer situations. Meet monthly branch and individual scorecard goals through self‑performance monitoring and action plans. Make policy exceptions within guidelines (e.g., fee waivers, funds availability) to maintain positive customer relations. May be responsible for branch opening/closing procedures. Contribute to the Bank’s objectives by coordinating workflow as a team member. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree a plus. Minimum of three years of professional customer contact experience or two years in a banking environment, preferably in a branch. Prior experience handling and being accountable for money. Complete the Bank’s in‑house Training Program within a reasonable timeframe. Demonstrate a sales‑oriented and relationship‑building demeanor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish or another language a plus. Perform basic math calculations. Interact confidently with clients. Self‑directed learning of Bank products/services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Working knowledge of core banking systems beneficial. Detail oriented, multi‑tasking, independent and team‑oriented. Demonstrated professionalism. Travel within branch region up to 15%.
