Registered Nurse, RN. Kingsbury. Per Diem

Overview Kingsbury is a 27-bed medical-surgical unit, caring for inpatients at Cheshire Medical Center with a variety of medical conditions as well as post-operative patients. You will be part of a competent and committed team performing a diverse range of caregiving tasks. Most patients are elderly, but patients as young as 18 are seen. Kingsbury welcomes newly licensed individuals, emphasizes teamwork, and values a positive work environment. Responsibilities Work 12-hour shifts, starting at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of five-to-one. Under the general supervision of the Nursing Team Leader, Clinical Leader and/or Department Director, perform as a member of the healthcare team to apply the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation/delivery, evaluation of patient care, and documenting relevant data and care processes. Professional Development and Leadership Opportunities Collaborate with the education department and unit educator to ensure evidence-based practice. Professional development opportunities, including cardiac telemetry training, ACLS verification, and certification support. Advancement opportunities such as charge nurse training, preceptor training, and other leadership development courses. Opportunity to become a unit-based supervisor assisting the nurse manager with day-to-day operations. Participation encouraged in the unit practice council promoting shared governance. Qualifications Must be a currently licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire with a minimum of one year nursing experience preferred. Current certification in BCLS is required. Excellent assessment, communication, interpersonal, and organizational/time management skills. Ability to work well as a team member and respond calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment and during a crisis or emergency. Computer skills are required. May be required to participate in evening, weekend and holiday coverage according to department needs.
