About the Role We’re looking for Community Liaisons located in Staten Island, Long Island, Orange County, or Westchester County to lead local outreach and engagement with Healthcare Partners. In this role, you’ll connect residents, healthcare partners, and community organizations to Mercato’s healthy food access programs. You’ll serve as a trusted local advocate, helping New Yorkers navigate nutrition benefits and support healthier lives. What You’ll Do Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and local CBOs Plan and attend community events, workshops, and outreach activities to promote Mercato’s programs. Educate residents about eligibility and enrollment for nutrition benefit programs. Coordinate with internal teams to align outreach with statewide health initiatives. Track engagement metrics, partnerships, and program outcomes. Represent Mercato in the community with professionalism, empathy, and enthusiasm. What We’re Looking For Experience: 1–2 years in community outreach, healthcare navigation, or public service. Knowledge: Familiarity with NYC neighborhoods and community networks is highly preferred. Skills: Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Traits: Culturally competent, adaptable, and mission-driven. Tech: Comfortable with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; CRM tools a plus. Education: Bachelor’s in public health, social work, or a related field—or equal experience preferred. Availability: Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends for community events. Travel: Travel within your individually assigned NYC region, up to 80%. Individual region territories include: Staten Island, Long Island, Orange County, or Westchester County Compensation $65,000–$72,000 base salary, plus a quarterly performance bonus of up to $2,500 ($10,000 annually) tied to referral goal attainment. Target total compensation $75,000–$82,000. Placement within the range depends on experience in community outreach or care coordination and familiarity with New York's Medicaid and social care landscape.
