Playa Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, founded in 2014, and our mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 300+ unit operator and franchisor of the leading fast casual restaurant concept. Playa Bowls added more than 70+ locations in 2024 and are on target to add as many 90 new locations in 2025. You are a positive, driven, and enthusiastic leader with a passion for superfoods, healthy living, and (of course) fruit! As the General Manager of a Playa Bowls location, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, ensuring exceptional guest experience, and leading your team to success. You'll manage and mentor a full team of Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Team Members — fostering a supportive, high-energy work environment. Your responsibilities include hiring and training new team members, setting and directing daily operations, evaluating performance, and addressing challenges with professionalism and a solutions-first mindset. You'll uphold company policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and standards. What you'll do:

• Ensure product consistency, quality, and flavor
• Address and resolve guest complaints
• Manage food and beverage deliveries
• Collaborate with Human Resources for onboarding
• Supervise food preparation processes
• Monitor financial performance
• Utilize scheduling systems
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations
• Maintain required sanitation records
• Establish and evaluate performance standards
• Review and refine operational processes
• Step in to assist with food preparation or service tasks
• Oversee food and equipment inventories
• Organize and direct employee training programs
• Order and manage supplies, equipment, and resources
• Assess staffing requirements and recruit new talent
• Coordinate maintenance and repair services
• Manage point-of-sale operations
• Complete business and government forms
• Adhere to company opening and closing procedures
• Embody and promote the Playa Bowls mission

Requirements:

• Must pass the required Playa Bowls Food Safety certification requirement within 3 months of employment.
• Meet business goals set out by the company in key metrics
• Must work a minimum of 40-45 hours a week, including weekends and holidays but expected to work as the business dictates

Essential physical functions:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to lift or otherwise move 25-40 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.
