Lead Security Engineer

Overview Lead Security Engineer at AssetMark is responsible for ensuring high security across our organization and product lines. This role will work with various teams to analyze technical requirements, define configuration specifications, and develop project plans. Location & Work Schedule Hybrid work schedule required. Must be located within close proximity to one of our offices: Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; or Chicago, IL. Responsibilities Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert in designing, enhancing, testing, and implementing security technologies used throughout the organization. Provide technical support of information security technologies, offering problem analysis and resolution in a timely manner. Investigate and quickly resolve security incidents and recommend corrective actions. Implement, configure, and maintain IAM infrastructure including Active Directory, EntraID, and MFA. Perform scheduled and on‑demand vulnerability assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Conduct threat modeling on key products and services by identifying threats and developing controls to prevent, detect, and respond. Partner with engineering teams to integrate and automate security at every level of the software and infrastructure development lifecycle. Provide security recommendations and solutions for infrastructure and applications in cloud environments. Perform special projects as assigned, effectively managing time with competing priorities. Qualifications Working knowledge of cloud service platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.). General knowledge of networking, cybersecurity frameworks, constructs, and auditable standards. Experience building and securing Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Hands‑on expertise with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and CSPM security technologies. Proficiency in scripting and programming (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.). Strong communication and collaborative skills. 7‑12 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or information technology. BS degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent. Supporting certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, OSCP) are a plus. Experience with JIRA project management. Experience with IAM solutions (Active Directory, EntraID, Okta, etc.). Hands‑on experience with CrowdStrike Falcon, Check Point Harmony, and Microsoft Defender. Experience using AI technologies to enhance security posture. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $115,000 – $135,000. Additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits are included.
