The Role

We are looking for an exceptional Creative Director to define and elevate how Wellness shows up in the world.

This is a senior creative leadership role focused on creative strategy, creative direction, and the quality of creative execution. The Creative Director will translate our brand strategy, consumer understanding, and business priorities into distinctive creative ideas and expressions that build the Wellness brand and drive the business. This person will establish a clear creative point of view for Wellness and lead its expression across brand identity, packaging, campaigns, content, digital, social, retail, innovation, and emerging consumer touchpoints.

The Creative Director will work closely with the CMO, Brand, and Integrated Marketing teams and will lead our external creative and design agency partners. They will be expected not simply to react to briefs, but to help identify the creative problem, sharpen the strategy, and inspire better solutions. Just as importantly, this person must be an exceptional strategic storyteller and communicator - someone who can clearly articulate the thinking behind the work, build a compelling creative narrative, and confidently present and defend recommendations to the CEO and executive leadership team.

Who We’re Looking For

Team Wellie is a group of people who are all in on winning for the consumer and the pets they love. And so, we are seeking an individual who always brings their best, stays on the scent, gets hungry and digs deep, is quick on their paws, and wins as a pack. In addition, for this specific role, we need someone who possesses:

• 12+ years of progressive creative leadership experience, ideally combining experience at a world-class creative/design agency with senior in-house leadership for a consumer brand.
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative thinking and execution across brand identity, packaging, campaigns and integrated consumer experiences.
• Deep experience building and evolving consumer brands, ideally in CPG, food, wellness, beauty, lifestyle or another highly design- and brand-driven category.
• Exceptional ability to translate brand and business strategy into creative strategy and creative expression.
• Strong experience leading major brand identity, packaging or design-system work across complex portfolios.
• Experience leading external creative and design agencies and a demonstrated ability to inspire partners to produce their best work.
• Outstanding creative judgment and taste coupled with the ability to explain why something works rather than relying solely on instinct.
• Exceptional written, verbal and visual storytelling skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop persuasive presentations and confidently influence CEO and C-suite audiences.
• Comfort operating in an environment where there may not be an obvious answer - using strategy, judgment and creativity to establish a clear path forward.
• A collaborative leadership style and the confidence to have a strong point of view without making the creative process about ego.
• Deep curiosity about consumers, culture, design and how great brands are built.

Our Team is based out of our office in Burlington, Massachusetts, where we work in-office Monday through Thursday each week, and remotely on Fridays. Team members must reside within or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from our Burlington office.

The annual salary range for this position is $162,900 to $247,600, based on a full-time work schedule, anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational equity. Compensation may vary within that pay range depending on the selected candidate’s professional background, experience, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The full compensation details will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer and may include eligibility for participation in a bonus program.
