About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care within the last 3 years, with experience in telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and progressive care. License: State RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry test required prior to starting. Experience with vent and transplant patients is essential. Charge experience preferred. Description: The traveler will work in an intermediate care unit. Shifts will be from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, including every other weekend and some holidays. Candidates must have telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and progressive care unit experience. Experience in working with ventilated patients and those undergoing transplants is required. The role involves providing care in a fast-paced environment for acutely ill surgical and trauma patients. Nurses will be integral members of a multidisciplinary team advocating for quality patient care. The unit manages a diverse patient population with various comorbidities and medical diagnoses, including cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension. Special procedures may be performed, requiring critical thinking and teamwork. Travelers must meet a minimum patient-to-nurse ratio and may be required to float as needed. Clinical skills required include management of arterial lines, central lines, and care for ventilated patients. Candidates will be subjected to strict pass/fail testing criteria. A telemetry exam must be passed within two attempts, meeting specific performance criteria. The position is expected to deliver exceptional care to patients in an academic and trauma center setting.
