To enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Texas Certified Teacher or college degree preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work well with children and adults Ability to communicate verbally and written effectively Experience: Background working with children in an educational setting preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Fulfill all daily teacher responsibilities in the absence of the classroom teacher. Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the school and district. Maintain instruction that is compatible with the school and system-wide curriculum goals and provided by the teacher or campus administration. Interact effectively with students, parents and staff. Adhere to established laws, policies, rules and regulations as presented in the substitute handbook and online district policies. Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions.
