St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is seeking a faith-filled and collaborative Director of Religious Education (DRE) to lead and grow our parish faith formation programs for children and youth in Kindergarten through Grade 12. This full-time position serves a vibrant and growing program of more than 400 students and their families.

The DRE works closely with the Pastor, parish leadership, catechists, volunteers, and families to foster a culture of evangelization and discipleship. This role provides vision, leadership, and support for the parish's religious education programs, helping children and families deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in the Catholic faith.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for parish religious education and faith formation programs.
• Coordinate sacramental preparation for children, youth, and families.
• Recruit, train, support, and accompany catechists and volunteers.
• Develop and evaluate catechetical programs and resources in accordance with diocesan guidelines.
• Build strong relationships with parents, parishioners, parish staff, and diocesan partners.
• Oversee program organization, including calendars, registration, records, budgets, and safe environment requirements.
• Support parish faith formation initiatives such as Vacation Bible School, Children's Liturgy, youth ministry, and other programs as needed.

• Fully initiated Roman Catholic who actively participates in the sacramental life of the Church.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic faith and the mission of evangelization.
• Bachelor's degree required; experience in education, theology, religious studies, or ministry preferred.
• Experience working with children, youth, families, and volunteers preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a pastoral presence.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written) preferred to serve our growing Spanish-speaking community.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with regular office hours and evening/weekend responsibilities as needed, including Sunday morning religious education programming, parent meetings, retreats, and sacramental preparation activities. The Director of Religious Education is an essential leader in forming the next generation of disciples and strengthening the faith life of our parish community.
