Qualifications Valid driver’s license (CDL, with commercial & air brake endorsements). At least 1 year of bus operations experience desirable. Minimum of 2 years of experience required as a full time operator. Knowledge of project specific vehicles, components and data/communications systems. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety programs and policies. Skills Strong customer service attitude. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and objectively. Flexible. Self‑Motivated. Key Accountabilities Road Supervisors provide direct oversight of vehicle operators on the street. Willingness to have flexibility with schedule and/or work split shifts, weekends and holidays. Ensure that all operators are fit for duty, meet uniform and equipment standards and possess proper licensing and certifications. Assist dispatch and maintenance staff with vehicle change outs that occur in the field. Assist operators with service or passenger problems. Conduct site checks and road observations according to client and local policy. Monitor street operations for on‑time performance and schedule adherence. Provide feedback to safety and operations departments on service items that affect safety and performance, identify potential safety hazards and provide feedback to be incorporated into daily operations procedures. Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures. Ability to work under stress and meet strict timelines. Use 2‑way radio and communicate effectively. Adhere to SFRTA policy. Handle Emergency Bus Bridge and Special Event management. Monitor Service Operations. Monitor AM and PM Pull‑Outs and Pull‑Ins. Inspect vehicles for damage and compliance with safety standards and F.A.C 14‑90. Observe driving skills and work habits of drivers in the field. Support the development and implementation of systems to maintain records on employees, equipment, compliance, and/or maintenance activities. Act as vehicle operator as needed. All roles may entail, to varying extents, the following physical demands: Long periods (potentially exceeding 8 hours per day) of walking, standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, twisting, squatting, handling materials, repetitive hand‑wrist motions, and traversing uneven surfaces; Exposure to both extreme heat and cold; Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and airborne particles; In addition to the above demands inherent in every role, the following roles may entail unique physical demands, including: Operators/Drivers may work inside or outside vehicles and may operate vehicles for over 8 hours per day. Operations Supervisors and Managers may split their work between an office setting looking at a computer screen/electronic device and active transit field locations driving in a vehicle. Maintenance Employees may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in a ventilated maintenance shop and may work with personal computers, laptops, electronic hand‑held devices, complex electrical schematics, diagnostic software and testing devices, and other heavy machinery. Office Staff may work indoors in air‑conditioned or well‑ventilated facilities, including offices and cubicle spaces equipped with a telephone and computer and may entail typing or looking at a computer screen.
