Assistant Controller

Title: Staff Accountant / Assistant Controller Location: Deerfield Beach, FL (Hybrid/In-Office) Date Posted: 08/06/2026 Compensation: 85,000-140,000 (Depending on Experience) We are a growing, established construction company with approximately 75+ employees seeking an ambitious Staff Accountant / Assistant Controller to join our internal accounting team . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who is eager to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and build a long-term career with the company. Key Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day accounting operations and general ledger maintenance Prepare and post journal entries Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Perform account and bank reconciliations Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Help prepare internal financial statements and management reports Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting records Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow reporting Support job-costing and construction accounting functions as needed Work closely with company leadership and the Controller on special projects Take on additional responsibilities as experience and knowledge grow What You Need For This Position Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required Previous hands-on accounting experience in public accounting or private industry Strong understanding of general accounting principles Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close preferred Strong Excel and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Positive attitude and willingness to learn Desire to grow into an Assistant Controller, Controller, or broader accounting leadership role Construction accounting, job-costing, or percentage-of-completion experience is a plus, but not required What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out?
