About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS certification required Must-Have: Ability to provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Description: One position remains available. The shift is days from 7 AM to 7 PM. Every other weekend is required. On-call requirement is not applicable. The nurse to patient ratio is 5:1-6:1 depending on staffing. The types of patients on the unit include cardiac and telemetry; this is not a stepdown unit. There is a possibility for temporary to permanent placement. The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. The nurse provides routine and complex care with the ability to set long-range goals or plans. Continued development of the ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing is expected. The nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities include meeting expectations of applicable competencies related to leadership. Consistent with established standards of practice, the nurse provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. The role includes addressing increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administer medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness. Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Identify issues and resources for patient care. All newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member. Initial onboarding requirements must be validated through the completion of designated competency validations. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
