Job Description
Hinshaw, Marsh, Still & Kanter is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Litigation Associate Attorney to join our dedicated legal team. We are looking for someone with at least two years of litigation experience. We specialize in medical malpractice, although medical malpractice is not required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research and writing skills. Our firm is fast paced, high volume, and a team-oriented environment.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools like LexisNexis
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests
- Assist Partner with preparing for trial
- Represent clients in depositions and hearings
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, gather information, and clarify legal options
- Collaborate with Partner on litigation strategies
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission
- Experience in civil litigation procedures
- Strong knowledge of procedural law and legal motion preparation
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Excellent writing skills for drafting pleadings, correspondence, written discovery, motions, and trial preparation
- Attend depositions and court appearances
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines under pressure

Pay: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
