Communications Director

About the Role: The Regional Communications Director is responsible for ensuring consistency between internal and external communications, alignment with the Group’s image and compliance with trademarks, in the region. To define the regional communication strategies and prepare annual corporate communications plans in line with the strategic objectives set out by the Corporate Communications department and the regions specific communications needs. You will manage the implementation of the region's communication plan and maintain the communication budget with responsibility for oversight of the following: External communication: Manage contact between the regional entities and the media. This includes monitoring trade publications and the news media, reporting necessary information to the Corporate Communications department. Establish and maintain relationships with local key journalists and national publications as well as the general public. Maintain relationships with representatives with various non-profit organizations, universities and professional organizations in the region to support the Group’s business objectives through institutional exchanges. Manage all local media events. Responsible to decide whether to outsource communication needs, depending on budgetary restrictions. Ensure all sites in the region respect the Group’s visual identity. Coordinate communication projects with vendors and contractors for the development and production of educational and event promotional materials using website production and Valeo Branding. Review and update existing promotional materials for marketing effectiveness, cross-selling implications and adherence to Valeo brand guidelines. Assess initiatives and review objectives, resources and results. Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of media coverage. Internal communication: Validate and manage internal communication initiatives within the region. Act as the region correspondent for image surveys and opinion polls launched by the Group. Assist in the development of presentations and/or speeches geared toward employees and consumers. Work collaboratively with the operations team to identify and develop communication campaign initiatives. Develop and maintain databases, photo and video libraries. Manage all media content, public relations and benchmark targets. This will include online publications, website maintenance, social media and networking strategies. Crisis communication: Define and implement communication strategies during crises, together with the Corporate Communications department Prepare and implement advanced written crisis communication materials Lead the region’s planning for Valeo branding by developing and executing an annual brand strategy. Also, participates in and contributes to annual brand operating plan reviews. You should have: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field is required. A Master's Degree in related fields is considered a plus. 5-10 years experience in communications 7+ years experience is preferable Extensive professional written communication and presentation experience to internal and external audiences (i.e. press releases, company memos, etc.) Knowledge of the automotive industry is a plus Strong media network contacts Knowledge of and experience with implementing best practices in social media Experience with Government Affairs a plus Experience partnering and managing external vendors Event planning and management (tech shows, customer events, industry events) Thanks to its strategy focused on innovation, Valeo aims at reducing CO² emissions and developing intuitive driving to propose greener, safer, and smarter mobility.
