Title Project Manager Location Albany, New York Duration 24 Months Client NY State - Information Technology Services (ITS) Job ID SLG - 26 - 12171 Respond by 07/17/26 5:00 PM Description NYS Department of Environmental Conversation has several IT projects. Each project will require technological support. ITS will manage the planning and implementation of these projects to coordinate technology needs with the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) throughout the lifecycle of the project. Duties Coordinate communication between DEC and ITS on projects. Work closely with DEC business leaders to understand agency priorities and interface with subject matter experts. Work closely with ITS leaders to understand technology limitations and interface with staff in the Dedicated Team. Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, dependencies, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources. Develop and utilize standard procedures for project delivery, reporting and documentation. Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. Track action items and deliverables on projects. Provide guidance and direction to the project teams. Direct and coordinate activities of project resources to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget. Track project-related costs and expenditures. Facilitate projects by defining agendas and running meetings. Aggregate status updates from project team members, track schedules, and manage risks and issues as required. Prepare project status reports and keep the team and management informed of project status and related issues, escalating as necessary. Coordinate vendor activities by monitoring and tracking vendor deliverables and commitments where relevant. Manage scope and the change request process, coordinating decision process of scope and budgetary impact of changes from original specifications. Track and maintain project and technical documentation. Mandatory Requirements Experience 14+ Years Plan, organize and integrate cross-functional information technology projects that are significant in scope and impact. Requirements 100% Onsite. 84 months of Project Management experience leading complex projects composed of three or more deliverables, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and successful on‑time delivery. 84 months of experience monitoring and tracking progress on three or more long‑term projects, ensuring alignment with goals, timelines, and deliverables. 84 months of experience developing/reviewing project management deliverables (e.g., project plans, schedules, communication plans, etc.). 84 months of experience facilitating meetings with the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization, including project team members. 84 months of experience facilitating communication among project team members. 84 months of experience leading meetings, documenting notes, status reports and developing project documentation. Bachelor's Degree. Project Management Professional Certification. Copy of Candidate Identification (i.e., Driver’s License/Green Card/Visa and Passport if applicable).
