Nurse Midwife Position

The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) is based in Chinle, Arizona (Northeast Arizona near Canyon De Chelly National Monument). The CCHCF is a 60 bed hospital which serves as the health care hub for the region. The medical staff includes Family Physicians, Internists, Pediatricians, General Surgeons, OB/GYN's, Anesthesiologists, and a Psychiatrist. In addition to routine outpatient and inpatient primary care, services available to our patients include: Adult Intensive Care, General Surgery (including laparoscopic surgery), routine and operative Obstetrics, and 24-Hour Emergency Room Services.

This position serves an APN Nurse Midwife for the Chinle Comprehensive Care Center, responsible for the full range of medical/nurse midwifery activities for women and infants, including assessment of patients, planning and evaluating the effectiveness of care, and modifying treatment. Educate, counsel and advise other health care professionals; and participate in research, Client goal development, and nursing/medical standards and protocol development.

• Provide women's health care with emphasis on the reproductive cycle.
• Plans and provides antepartum or prenatal health care, intrapartum health care, postpartum including delivery through six weeks.
• Plans and provides newborn care.
• Plans and provides well women gynecology and family planning services.
• Educate, counsel and advise patients, families and staff.

• Graduated from an accredited baccalaureate degree program in nursing (BSN) acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General.
• Completion of an approved course in nurse midwifery acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General.
• Master's degree from accredited program in specialty.
• Have and maintain a current license to practice nursing as a registered nurse in a US jurisdiction.
• Certified as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
• Has and maintains current BLS, ACLS and NRP certification (STABLE desired)
