Production ManagerThis role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.ResponsibilitiesAs a Production Manager, you'll provide leadership, direction, and support to production teams while playing a key role on the shop floor, driving operational excellence and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all aspects of manufacturing and assembly operations.What You'll Do:Lead and develop production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectivesOversee the assembly of complex aerospace structures and sub-assemblies utilizing metallic and non-metallic materialsEnsure compliance with manufacturing standards, quality requirements, and safety regulationsManage installation and integration of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsDrive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and product qualityCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customer teams to resolve issues and improve performanceMonitor production schedules and resource utilization to ensure customer commitments are metSupport employee development through coaching, mentoring, and performance managementPromote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellenceQualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment5+ years of leadership or management experienceFlexibility to support alternative schedules or shifts as business needs requirePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, or business-related fieldExperience leading projects while managing schedules, budgets, and operational objectivesKnowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processesExperience with SAP and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience working within a unionized manufacturing environment and managing collective bargaining agreementsDrug Free Workplace:We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:We strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
