About This Role

We are seeking a dependable, responsible, and caring After-school / Bus Driver to join our childcare center in Decatur, Georgia .

This position combines safe transportation of children to and from local schools with providing supervision and support during our after-school program. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, punctual, professional, and enjoys working with school-age children.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from local schools and the childcare center.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections before transportation routes.
• Maintain accurate transportation, attendance, and vehicle records.
• Ensure children are safely loaded, properly secured, unloaded, and supervised at all times.
• Follow all traffic laws, transportation regulations, center policies, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive environment while transporting children.
• Communicate professionally with center management, staff, families, and school personnel.
• Report vehicle concerns, incidents, delays, or safety issues promptly.
• Assist with after-school classroom activities and daily routines as needed.
• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, homework time, games, and other after-school programming.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for children.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Valid Georgia Driver’s License (CDL preferred but not required if applicable).
• Clean driving record.
• Experience transporting children preferred.
• Must pass a background check and meet Bright from the Start requirements.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Excellent communication and supervision skills.
• Comfortable working with and supervising school-age children.
• Ability to follow transportation schedules, safety procedures, and center policies consistently.
