Digital Strategist

Group C is a solution-driven, full-service digital marketing + consulting firm in Des Moines, Iowa. We collaborate with the biggest names in digital to create a handcrafted digital marketing strategy for brands and agencies. Our team is looking for a Digital Strategist who can join the team and make an immediate impact. This role owns the story behind the numbers: leading monthly performance reporting for an assigned portfolio of clients, working with our internal media and execution teams to understand what is driving results, and presenting clear explanations and strategic recommendations to clients, including on the fly in client meetings. Candidates for this position must possess a background in digital advertising and/or marketing with experience working directly with brands and/or agencies, comfortability with data and numbers, and the ability to explain complex results with confidence to non-technical clients. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with Google Ads, Meta, and programmatic platforms (DSPs), as well as Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager. Position Schedule: Full-time, Monday- Friday Position Type: On-Site; Candidate must be located in Des Moines, IA metro and have the ability to work on-site 5 days per week during normal business hours. Candidates must also be able to meet local clients as needed. Responsibilities Lead monthly campaign performance reporting for assigned clients and present results, insights, and recommendations in clear, concise client meetings. Work with internal media buying and execution teams to understand the "why" behind performance changes and turn it into a client-ready explanation. Answer client questions and make sound, data-backed recommendations in real time during meetings. Serve as a trusted advisor and primary strategic point of contact for assigned clients, responding to questions and providing regular updates on campaign progress. Analyze and interpret performance across Google, Meta, and programmatic channels; identify issues before the client does and provide solutions that strengthen partnerships and ROI. Work with clients and the internal team to develop media plans and proposals. Oversee campaign tracking implementation using Google Tag Manager and GA4. Oversee the creation and maintenance of client dashboards and reporting. Work with colleagues to launch and update campaigns. Take part in pitches for new contracts and support onboarding of new business. Continuously offer proactive ideas to increase the effectiveness of client marketing initiatives. Maintain thorough documentation of all activities on the client’s behalf. Stay up to date with new solutions, platform updates, and opportunities in the ad tech space. Qualifications 3-7 years of experience in digital advertising, media planning, and/or digital strategy, including work with brands and/or agencies. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge of Google Ads, Meta, and programmatic platforms (such as Stack Adapt or Simpli.fi). Experience with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, explain what is driving results, and turn it into actionable recommendations. Excellent client-facing communication skills, including the ability to present complex data insights to stakeholders and think on your feet in meetings. Ability to manage multiple client accounts and projects efficiently in a fast-paced, small-team setting. Interest in growing into a senior role with greater client and team ownership. Preferred: experience building client dashboards and reports (TapClicks, Datorama, or similar).
