General Laborer

Purpose of the RoleResponsible for performing a variety of physical tasks and manual duties set out by the supervisor. The position includes grinding weld seams to a smooth shape/finish, assisting with CNC plasma cutting machines as well as other duties required for the welding and fabrication process. The candidate must be in good physical shape to perform a wide variety of tasks that require stamina, focus and attention to detail. They must also be organized, comfortable working with others and working independently, be able to follow instructions and carry them out efficiently.Key Responsibilities and DutiesSafely operate construction vehicles – Forklifts and Skid SteerUse power and hand toolsHelp with CNC plasma cutting machinesHelp with welding, grinding and fabricationMaintain a safe and clean work environmentKeeping repair tools and supplies clean and organizedCompleting safety checks on systems and equipmentHelp transport raw and fabricated materialResponsibly manage consumable supplies and raw materialsFollow all company safety requirements and standards including but not limited to the use of respiratory equipment, protective clothing, protective lenses/googles, steel toe boots etc.Required CompetenciesEducation: N/AExperience: Similar previous experience preferredSkills:Alert, focused, and meticulousPhysically and mentally fitStrength and stamina to perform a variety of physical tasksRepetitive standing and walkingHelp with other duties as neededAble to operate a forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, skid steer, etc.Prior work experience with sheet metal, finish/ trim work, carpentry skills is beneficial, but not required.Initiative-taker who works well independentlyDisciplined, dependable, and resourcefulHigh level of composure and good stress managementBe able to strictly follow work instructions, have good attention to detail and be quality mindedMust work well in a team environment and be self-sufficient when working aloneThe ability to work with minimal supervision from managersWork easily and skillfully with handsStoop, kneel, and crouch as neededUse hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objectsReliable TransportationPhysically – Lift up to 75 LBS; frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing 25 to 50 LBS #J-18808-Ljbffr Priority Dispatch Corp.
