Chief EngineerSalary Range $75,000 - $85,000 DOEPosition SummaryThe Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and physical operation of the hotel. This is a working leadership role that combines hands-on maintenance with oversight of building systems, vendors, and compliance. The Chief Engineer ensures the property is safe, well-maintained, and operates efficiently to support an exceptional guest experience.Essential FunctionsMust adhere to the company's Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.Oversee and perform daily maintenance and repairs across guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areasMaintain and monitor building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and irrigationConduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactivelyManage preventive maintenance programs and work order systemsEnsure compliance with life safety, fire, health, and OSHA requirementsRespond to emergency maintenance issues and coordinate after-hours coverage as neededManage service contracts and coordinate outside vendors and contractorsControl engineering inventory, tools, and maintenance suppliesMaintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and compliance documentationSupport capital projects, renovations, and room turns as neededAbide by all resort policies and safety rules.Perform other duties as requested by management.Qualifications5+ years of hotel or facilities maintenance experience; supervisory experience preferredStrong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systemsAbility to perform hands-on repairs and troubleshootingWorking knowledge of safety regulations, life safety systems, and preventive maintenance practicesStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced environmentFlexible schedule, including on-call availability for emergenciesWorking Conditions and ScheduleRequires frequent physical activity, including lifting, climbing, bending and working in mechanical spaces.Requires flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictateRegular walking, standing, and movement throughout the propertyFrequent lifting of materials up to 50 poundsOccasional lifting of materials up to 100lbsExposure to varying environmental conditions typical of hospitality operations (indoor/outdoor, noise, weather)Peregrine TH Management, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
