Position: Interim Director of Nursing (DON)

Contract Length: 13 Weeks (with option to extend)

Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility

Schedule: Full-Time

Pay: Competitive weekly compensation based on experience, including housing, meal, and travel stipends for qualified travelers

What We're Looking For:

• Experienced and confident nursing leader.

• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey readiness.

• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to quickly assess operations, build relationships, and lead clinical teams.

• Flexible, adaptable professional who thrives in fast-paced environments.

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (or ability to obtain).

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required.

• Minimum of five years of long-term care or acute care nursing experience preferred.

• At least two years of Director of Nursing or nursing leadership experience strongly preferred.

• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local regulations governing Skilled Nursing Facilities.

• Ability to travel and quickly adapt to new facilities and teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide 24-hour leadership and oversight of the Nursing Department while ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care.

• Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to promote a positive culture focused on clinical excellence.

• Oversee resident care planning to ensure compliance with physician orders, facility policies, and regulatory standards.

• Monitor quality measures, infection prevention, staffing, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

• Assist facilities with survey preparation, plans of correction, and performance improvement initiatives.

• Participate in admissions decisions and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes.

• Lead daily clinical operations, staffing, scheduling, and quality improvement efforts.

• Serve as the facility's clinical leader and assume responsibility for facility operations in the absence of the Administrator, when appropriate.
