CT Technologist

Job Summary

Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs, and tissues for the diagnosis of medical conditions. Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including general radiography and fluoroscopy.

Education and Work Experience

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) or R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA, if operating fluoroscopy equipment
• Venipuncture certification: Required in CA, if performing venipuncture to administer contrast materials

Essential Functions

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Utilizes PACS and teleradiology systems to ensure correct transfer of images.
• Maintains accurate records, files, and billing information.
• Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Completes other job-related duties as assigned.

Commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients is paramount. Required vaccinations must be received as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participation in E-Verify is required.

Work Schedule

This position requires variable shifts from Wednesday to Friday, 7 PM to 7 AM. Holiday coverage may be required if they fall on scheduled workdays, with no weekend coverage currently needed. Scrubs should be in Caribbean blue color.
