Maintenance Technician

Candidate is responsible for assisting the Facilities department in order to perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical and vehicle servicing.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the maintenance field.
• Perform assigned work according to tickets received and projects as outlined by management.
• Ability to manage time effectively to complete a large number of varied tasks in many different work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required skills and abilities include:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational skills desired.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and PC's are preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Physical requirements and working conditions include:

• The employee will be required to sit, stoop, bend, climb, reach and stand for extended periods of time.
• Employee must have excellent dexterity of hands and fingers to complete daily tasks.
• Employee is required to lift and carry up to 50lbs independently and more than 50lbs with assistance.
• Employee must be able to talk and hear in order to ensure proper communication.
• This job requires strong vision skills, including close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
