About The Role 

We are seeking a temporary full-time  Publishing Specialist who is a dynamic, self-driven, and detail-oriented professional. This position’s primary responsibility is to format environmental planning reports and proposals to transmit to clients using Rincon branded templates or client specified templates, as required. This involves an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and formatting skills to merge and format complex and large documents that include figures, tables, and images with final output as bookmarked PDF files.  

The Publishing Specialist will work directly with a team of other publishers and tech editors responding to requests from technical staff of Environmental Science Project Managers, Graphics designers, and a range of Marketing team members. The work demands having a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat is required.

This role may offer a hybrid work setup, blending time in the office with remote work as business needs evolve. We enjoy coming together in person to collaborate, connect with teammates, and partner with clients, and may prioritize candidates who live within 50 miles of a Rincon office. Eligible office locations for this role include Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.  (Please note: While this role's location is listed as a single location, we encourage you to apply if you reside in or near any of the CA locations listed above.) 

What You’ll Do

• Formatting of Word documents with adherence to styles and templates 
• Create bookmarked PDF files for internal printing or electronic submittal to clients 
• Work with different departments to meet requirements and deadlines 

 

What You’ll Bring

• Excellent attention to detail 
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word 
• At least 1 year of Word processing experience  
• Experience with creating and editing Adobe PDF files 
• Functions well in fast-paced environment 
• Expert at multi-tasking and prioritizing 
• Ability to be flexible within deadline-driven due dates 
• Strives for accuracy and efficiency 
• Strong communications skills and some writing ability 
• Experience in Excel and PowerPoint 
• Experience with ADA Compliant document review is a plus 
• Technical Editing experience is a plus 
• Ability to work in a team environment, initiative to work and learn independently and proactively contribute to department goals 

 

Investing in You 

The hourly range for this position is $25.00-$32.00 per hour, plus a generous benefits program. Hourly ranges are based on the market median of similar jobs, according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Base pay is determined based on internal equity and a candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
