Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer The Quality Engineer reports to the Plant Manager. They are responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes, products, and systems meet internal quality standards. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives by applying quality tools, analyzing data, and driving corrective and preventive actions. A Quality Engineer plays a key role in maintaining compliance with applicable quality standards by providing guidance and assistance to manufacturing, field installation, and the Daifuku organization. Responsibilities Identification of processes, electrical, mechanical, and welding Determination of criteria and methods to ensure process operation & control Process improvement resulting in measurable data Problem solving and mistake proofing FMEA (Process & Design) Utilization of Corrective Action System Tooling Management Conduct internal quality audits Compile and provide reports regarding nonconformance/corrective action data Train employees in quality concepts and work instructions Administrate document control procedures for all quality related documents Facilitate internal and participate in third party ISO/QS audits Assist with Statistical Process Control Activities Assist in application of statistical process control techniques and data analysis for Manufacturing facilities and Suppliers Assist with measuring and testing product, measuring techniques, test readiness Documentation of failures, root cause, and corrective action Conduct or assign personnel to perform product/process inspections at vendor site Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Knowledge English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Bachelor's degree in technical curriculum or an Associates degree with 2 years of experience in utilizing statistical techniques or 4 years on the job experience in decision making positions or six years experience in a manufacturing environment. Short term travel involved including supplier visits, customer visits and various facilities. Knowledge of computers, and efficient in Microsoft applications. Excellent communication/presentation skills required. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, QS 9000 and TE supplement. Knowledge of statistical tools. Knowledge of data collection techniques. Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data. Knowledge of FMEA, FTA, DOE, QFD. Ability to use problem solving skills, organization skills, multi-tasking skills, and presentation/training skills. Ability to read and evaluate existing technical and service data. Knowledge of Daifuku operations and products helpful.
